Clare needs no introduction for her role as the unforgettable Julia Cotton from Hellraiser and Hellbound: Hellraiser II, the manipulative and chilling wife & stepmother from Hell who helped make Clive Barker’s Hellraiser one of the most iconic and beloved horror films of the 1980s… and who proved just how far a person will go for love when a certain someone is waiting in the attic. Some might even say she was very good at bringing people home for dinner…
Beyond the world of horror, Clare has had an extraordinary career across film, television and
theatre. She appeared in The Golden Compass, played Miss Cackle in the children’s TV
series The Worst Witch, and, more recently, appeared as Mad Hettie in Netflix’s The
Sandman. You may also recognise her from appearances in Doctor Who, Downton
Abbey and Silent Witness.
