Blog Graham Humphreys Exclusive HorrorConUK Print

Here’s a preview of the preliminary artwork our HorrorConUK exclusive poster for 2017.

Designed and illustrated by genre artist Graham Humphreys, well known for his posters for The Evil Dead (1982) and A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), this poster is exclusively designed and painted by Graham for HorrorConUK 2017 and is only available from HorrorConUK.

This is not the final artwork, but we thought you would like to see it now as a work in progress!

Speaking of his design Graham said: “My image brings the actors together in the hellfire spat forth from the blackened skull of a Bessemer Converter.

The Bessemer process was the first inexpensive industrial process for the mass-production of steel from molten pig iron before the development of the open hearth furnace. The key principle is removal of impurities from the iron by oxidation with air being blown through the molten iron.”

The invention of Henry Bessemer, this process was met by general rebuffs. Deciding to implement the process himself, Henry established his invention in Sheffield, he revolutionised steel production, becoming a millionaire and making the city world famous. An achievement that is honoured in this painting.

The exclusive A2 print is available to pre-order (for collection at HorrorConUK 2017) priced at £15
