At the event

What is HorrorConUK?

HorrorConUK is the UK’s original annual horror convention, running since 2015, more a horror party than your average convention; it’s an opportunity in an atmospheric space where like minded folks can meet to celebrate the weird and wonderful world of horror! It’s a chance to meet and speak with some of the most iconic names within the horror genre, go to a Q and A session, get an autograph or have a photo taken. There’s also an amazing horror market too with all things spooky on sale!  Come in costume, and or just hang out with other similar tortured souls! There is so much to see and do at the event that there is never enough time in one day to do it all!  The event is family friendly and welcomes people of all ages, however children/young people aged 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult. HorrorConUK’s next event is on 17th & 18th May 2025.

Guests in previous years have included:

Griffin Dunne, Mira Sorvino, David Morrissey, Britt Ekland, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Derek Mears, Christina Lindberg, John Franklin, Courtney Gains, The Grimm-Life Collective, Malcolm McDowell, Corey Feldman, Dario Argento, Nicholas Vince, Barbie Wilde, Simon Bamford, Jonathan Breck, Eileen Dietz, Richard Brake, Linda Hayden, Charles Cyphers, Nancy Loomis Kyes, Sean Pertwee, John Jaratt, Scout Taylor Compton,  Nick Frost, Victoria Price, Craig Sheffer, Andrew Divoff, Edwin Neal, Duncan Regehr, Lamberto Bava, Jeffrey Combs, Billy Wirth, Sir Christopher Frayling, Julian Sands, Dee Wallace, Barbara Crampton, Claudio Simonetti, David Warner, Tom Savini, Gunnar Hansen, David Naughton, Sid Haig, Bill Moseley, Elvira, Heather Langenkamp, Doug Bradley, Kane Hodder, Linnea Quigley, Fenella Fielding, Ian McCulloch, Caroline Munro, Martine Beswick, Emily Booth & Ken Foree. https://www.horrorconuk.com/gallery/

I want to ask a question that hasn’t been covered?

Please contact us through our Contact Page or email us at info@HorrorConUK.com and we’ll do our best to answer!

A guest I would like to meet is going to another event close to your event; can you get them to come to HorrorConUK?

No, we wouldn’t do this unless it’s part of the original agreement as we consider it to be poaching and not very honourable!

Is there disabled access in the venue?

Yes, most of the event is on the ground floor, photo ops are accesible by lift see Venue Map. There is also disabled parking about 25 metres from the entrance, toilet facilities are also available. If you have any questions regarding the event please get in touch. Please note that HorrorConUK may become crowded especially on the Saturday, if you have any concerns about this before or on the day please do ask a member of staff for assistance.

How do I pay for things at the event?

Bring lots of cash! Seriously! There is not a cash machine at the venue.  Also maybe have a wander around before you spend, that way you will have an idea of what you want to spend your money on! Simples! Not all vendors will accept card payments so if you wish to purchase an item from one of the exhibitors on the day we recommend you bring cash with you. If you have a budget, bring that budget with you! The special guest signings take cash only.

Catering services (including the bar) and pay on the day entry tickets are provided by Magna who take digital payments only.

Is there parking available at the venue?

Yes, there is plenty of FREE parking available at the venue and surrounding areas.

Is there a Cloakroom?

Sorry we do not have a Cloakroom.

Can I re-enter the show if I leave?

Yes, of course, as long as you are wearing an intact wristband – you may come and go as often as you wish!

Is there food available?

Yes there will be food available, burgers, pizzas, jacket potatoes etc. However, if you have dietary concerns or intolerance to certain foods (as do we) e.g. vegan, nuts, lactose, gluten etc you are welcome to contact us for advice by email: info@horrorconuk.com

Catering is provided by Magna Science Adventure Centre who accept digital payments only.

Can I hug or kiss a guest?

We understand how overwhelming it can be to meet our Special Guests, and whilst we horror fans all know them very well, they do not know us from Adam! Please be courteous and respectful; please don’t make them feel uncomfortable by doing creepy weird stuff like staring at them from a distance! They are human beings not creatures from outer space!

Do Special Guests charge per signing?

In most cases the Special Guest will charge you for all signings, if in doubt do ask the guest’s assistant.

Please note the guests signing and photo op price is set by the guest and/or their agents, and may differ between other shows and is not under our control.

Will there be queues to get autographs or photos?

Yes!!  If you are new to the convention scene it might take you by surprise, but it is quite normal for this type of event.  So if there is a guest you simply have to meet, get in early, or better still attend on the Sunday (usually it’s a quieter day). There will usually be lines for the special guests. If there is a busy queue for your chosen guest, you will be given a ticket and asked to return at another time.

What are the opening times of HorrorConUK?

11:00am – 6:00pm Saturday & Sunday with a standard day or weekend ticket.  Priority entry is from 10:00am and is available with a Priority entry day or Priority weekend ticket.

Adult £32 plus £1 booking fee

Youth 12 – 16 years £15 plus £1 booking fee

Tickets will be available to purchase online for the duration of the weekend, unless they sell out.

Are Special Guests guaranteed to attend?

Special Guests are contracted to attend both days of HorrorConUK, but sometimes life gets in the way!  Guests appearances are subject to their work commitments because on rare occasions a guest may be offered film work which clashes with their appearance at HorrorConUK. This is a rare occurrence but, as with illness, can sometimes happen and is outside our control. Entry ticket refunds will not be given due to a guest cancellation, however we will refund photo tickets.

Please join our Mailing List (down at the bottom of the page) to keep up to date with HorrorConUK news.

Do the Special Guests have pictures to sign?

Yes, most of the guests will bring an assortment of pictures, photos, books, maybe posters and a plethora of other things to sign.  However there is always a chance they may sell out – although this hasn’t happened so far. You are free to bring along your own items to be signed – maybe your own poster, mask, photo or DVD/VHS. In general each item you want signed will be charged for, unless the guest decides to cut you a deal! Restricted items that you would like signing (e.g. a Machete) are not allowed into the convention (see rules on restricted items).

When will the Special Guests be signing?

Unless stated otherwise on the website, all guests will be available to sign on both days of HorrorConUK. Occasionally a guest may only be available to attend on one day and this will be clearly stated on the website.

Can I bring my kids?

Yes! Well, as long as they are a horror lover – Please don’t bring a sensitive child who is likely to get upset at the sight of the various ghouls, demons, zombies, serial killers and bloody monsters roaming the corridors!  We ask that you use your discretion: Does your child really love horror? We have no desire to police or tell parents how to do their job, and we believe that parents have their child’s best interests at heart and know what their child can or can’t handle. BUT please remember the horror world is an adult world – many of the traders stalls will feature graphic merchandise based on horror films, books, special effects etc. and fruity language may be used during Q & A’s and elsewhere!   It’s your call! If they’re happy they are very welcome.  Children aged 11 & under are free with a paying adult. Children 14 & under must be accompanied by a paying adult.  Children aged 15 – 16 years old may attend without adult supervision from 11:00am onwards.  Children under 18 are strictly prohibited from any film screenings.

Can I take a photo of the Special Guests or a selfie with them?

Please respect Special Guests and their wishes, most will oblige with a snap when purchasing an autograph – but if in doubt please do ask them.

Can I take photographs at HorrorConUK?

Yes you may take photographs.  Although flash photography is strictly forbidden during Q & As, talks and films as we do not wish to temporarily blind the special guests or Comperes! If you share your photos or films of HorrorConUK on Facebook, Twitter or any other social media we reserve the right to share those photos and use them on our website.

Can I film the event?

If you are filming on a mobile phone for your own personal use then that’s OK.  However other filming requires HorrorConUK’s express written permission.

Will I be in any photos taken at HorrorConUK?

By attending HorrorConUK you give your consent for us to use your image in any marketing of our future events. If a photographer asks to take your photo you may of course decline.

I don’t have a printer to print out my ticket. What should I do?

We really would prefer you to print out your ticket, but if you can’t get a print out from work, local library, friend or family member’s printer, bring your mobile phone, tablet etc and as long as we can scan the barcode from your device we have no problem!

Does the professional photo opportunity come with an autograph?

No. You are purchasing a photo opportunity with a guest and a photograph only. You may get the photo signed at the usual price when the guest is back at their signing table.

Can I bring my dog or pet into HorrorConUK?

Not unless it is a guide dog for the blind or other medical assistance dog or a Special Guest/Exhibitor. If in doubt email us at: info@horrorconuk.com

Is there a bar?

Yes! Alcohol will be on sale by the venue in The Big Hall. Drinking alcohol bought on the premises is allowed.

Do I have to pay for admission into the Q&A’s, talks or film screenings?

No, the special guest Q and A’s, talks and film screenings are included in the price but seating is limited, first come, first served. Treat the experience as though you were in the cinema, and make sure your phone is on silent or turned off. Occasionally some other activities or exhibits may be subject to a small charge by the provider.
